We bet most of you saw the leggings trend going on in the equestrian community, and not quite sure to hop into this sporty chic trend. Since seat is the key to a good ride, we rode with these leggings for hours and reviewed it for you. Let us tell you about our experiences with the Bare Equestrian Performance Tights to help you with the decision.
Let’s start with our first impressions and the first look. Model and color we tried was Imperial Diva. This model has a black base and decorated with purple panels. These tights are all made from high quality performance fabric, sucking the sweat and pushing out for faster evaporation and featuring full seat silicone grip technology. Silicones are evenly spaced little dots spread to the full seat area. Those little dots are nice to touch and we must add, we got a little obsessed to touch these at first but you get used to it and forget about it completely. Since they’re black and the base color is also black, they’re not highly visible. Imperial Diva Performance Tights have a Bare Equestrian text logo on the back of the waist, written with silver colored letters. It’s a little bit flashy for our taste but if you don’t tuck your t-shirt it can be covered easily. But since it’s written in a fine font and looks actually cool, you might want to show it off as well. There’s also a graphic logo sitting on top of the right hip which we adored. Made with the same silver colored silicone material, this logo is awesome and looks great in pictures as well. Purple panels are really a great touch and looks really stylish on the black leggings. There are two parts covered with black net only for cosmetic reasons that gives the sporty and polished look. Saved the best for the last. There’s a phone pocket sitting on the right leg. It’s perfectly placed and we tried it with iPhone 8 Plus with the silicone cover on. It fits great. Took the cover off and pulled it slightly up for taking photos but normally phone sits in the pocket and the tip doesn’t show. We paired it with technical tops but you can also pair it with polos or t-shirts.
I’m not the tiniest person but I’m usually wearing XS on leggings. Bare Equestrian tights fit true to size. XS fit me perfectly. I’m 168 cm and the length of the leggings is the correct size as well. If you are tall, it would stretch your size, there’s still room and since the fabric is 4 way stretching, length is not a problem at all. And if you’re a little short, you can always fold the ankles, since the fabric is thin, it wouldn’t bulk up. Full seat provides a good grip. We have tried the leggings mostly on flatwork and pole on the ground training. We really liked the grip on the turns, coming back or moving forward. Also strategically placed seams helps to avoid rubbing. We always felt connected to the saddle and enjoyed the comfortable ride all day long.
Overall we loved the Bare Equestrian Imperial Diva Performance Tights. Actually we don’t think there are anything to be improved. It’s really great. Highest quality materials, great style, well thought details make it perfect. And they have a great color range you can choose from. They also make youth sizes. So if you’re interested to twin with your daughter, you can do that as well.
